1. Who we are

Estimania (estimania.app) is operated by Valentin Forster, Graz, Austria. Contact: estimania@gmx.at

2. Data we collect

• Anonymous player ID — Supabase assigns each device a random UUID on first visit via anonymous authentication. No email or password is required.
• Display name — optionally set by you after completing your first puzzle. Stored in our database and shown on leaderboards.
• Scores — your guesses and scores for each question, tied to your anonymous player ID. Used for leaderboards and your personal stats.
• Push notification subscription — if you opt in, we store your browser's push endpoint and your timezone offset to send you a daily reminder at 18:00 local time. Stored until you unsubscribe.
• Device link — if you use the "restore progress" feature, we store a link between your devices so scores are attributed to the same player.
• Local storage — your game state (answers, stats, streak) is stored in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device unless you submit scores.
• Page views — we use Vercel Analytics to count page views. No personal data or fingerprinting is involved.

3. Why we collect it

• To run the game and display leaderboards.
• To send daily reminders (only if you subscribe).
• To let you restore your progress on a new device.
• To understand overall usage via aggregate analytics.

4. Data storage and processors

Data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted in the EU) and served via Vercel. Both act as data processors under our instructions.

We do not sell your data, share it with third parties for advertising, or use it for any purpose beyond running the game.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. Because the game uses anonymous authentication, your data is identified by your anonymous player ID. To exercise your rights, contact us at estimania@gmx.at and include your player ID (visible in browser dev tools under Supabase session storage).

6. Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. Supabase may set a session cookie to maintain your anonymous session across page loads.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the game after changes constitutes acceptance.
